MAG saves lives and builds futures by working with others to reclaim land contaminated with the debris of conflict, to reduce the daily risk of death or injury for civilians, and to create safe and secure conditions for development. MAG shared the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize as a founding member of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines for our work to ban landmines. Our vision is a safe and secure future for men, women and children affected by armed violence and conflict.
About MAG in Vietnam:
MAG has been present in Vietnam since 1998. MAG Vietnam is reducing the risk of death and injury in communities, within two provinces (Quang Binh and Quang Tri), through the delivery of risk education, clearance of Cluster Munitions, and removal and destruction of other items of UXO.
About the role:
This senior role will provide you with the opportunity to use your project and people management skills to lead a team of national staff across key support functions. Reporting to the Country Director, the post-holder will be responsible for managing logistics and procurement, vehicle fleet, IT, HR and other support functions, with added responsibility for developing national staff. You will be responsible for ensuring that all programme support services systems are robust and working to enhance efficiency and minimise risk. You will therefore need experience of successfully designing, implementing, managing and monitoring support systems and processes. You will also have a key strategic and senior management role in the programme as a member of the Senior Management Team, acting as the Senior Manager in Country as and when required.
You don’t need previous experience in mine action but you will need experience in overseas support services management roles, in an international aid/humanitarian organisation. Given the scale and size of our programme in Vietnam, you will need to be a dynamic, motivated, flexible self-starter, able to hit the ground running. You’ll have previous overseas experience managing a wide range of support services, ideally supporting large scale projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced support services manager to take the next step in their career and grow their skills in a senior, varied and autonomous role.
